When we talk about rainfall chances here on KWCH, we never use percentages. We prefer to just use plain English to describe the forecast. But this upcoming weekend, I can say confidently that there is a 100% chance of a shower: either the meteorological or the astronomical kind. Saturday night into early Sunday marks the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower. Unfortunately, the timing is not the best as we have a chance of showers and storms during that same time.
Sky lovers: not to worry! While the weekend does mark the peak of the meteor shower, the Perseids can still be found by looking NE in the nighttime sky (generally after 11 p.m. local time) until late August. So if ol' Ma Nature decides to rain things out Saturday night, you could get your chance Sunday night too.
